notes on the summer of '19, note two

She runs to sit with me.

I say, "You know better than to run."

She runs 1/100,000th of a second slower when I mention that.
Still I can tell that she at least listened to me.
So I let her have it until she falls again.
I will say, "You know better than to run."


Her sister jumps, and she watches.
Then she jumps and her sister watches.
It's a back and forth of jumping and sitting and watching
until we're exhausted from the swim.
