We meet at a coffee shop by the railroad tracks.
Betty has a box.
We order fancy coffee and sit upstairs alone.
Betty opens the box.
It contains her most recent portfolio and a book.
I am affected.
It is effecting, Betty's work.
So much so that we will have to take this one slow.
Today I am grateful for a call, a meeting, a revisit to Mississippi. I am grateful for Betty's patience, her courage, how photography, when treated with such care and attention, can stir something within us.
